Salad Dressing Options…

I eat a TON of salad each week unfortunately most store brand salad dressings have soybean oil as the FIRST ingredient!

Because I eat so much salad, at the beginning of my soy-free journey I had decided to learn how to make homemade salad dressings. If you want to make homemade salad dressing check out these recipes.

You know, sometimes I just want to buy some salad dressing instead of making it myself.

Happily, there are a number of great-tasting soy-free options. For creamy dressings I’ve found some nice options made by Litehouse Foods. Keep in mind that not all of the dressings made by Litehouse Foods are soy-free; however, they have  some tasty soy-free salad dressing options. Instead of soybean oil they use canola oil. Below are some of my favorites, and because they make such great flavors, soon you’ll have some favorites!

This is my all time favorite – Jalapeño Ranch flavor! The thing is I am not one who likes spicy hot foods at all, but the jalapeño spice kick in this dressing is very slight and does not make me cry, and I’m a REALLY big cry baby when it comes to spicy hot foods…

This is a second runner up for me when it comes to Ranch flavor dressings.  I usually eat this with a great plate of crudite. (Okay, I’m just trying to be fancy – I love it with fresh chopped veggies…)

I recently discovered this yummy flavor.  I tried it out on my salad and loved it but of course, the second time around, I cheated by frying up a couple strips of bacon in a pan and adding it to my salad…

Be sure to check out Litehouse Food’s website to learn about more of their yummy soy-free dressings and where to buy them…

For oily salad dressings, I found some soy-free options in the Ken’s brand of salad dressings.  Most of their salad dressing use soy oil, but they have a few really good soy-free options. They are a bit on the salty side, so I usually don’t need to add any salt to my salads if I use the Ken’s brand dressings.

This is my favorite Caesar dresssing!  The flavor reminds me of the salad dressing at the Olive Garden. Which of course I stopped eating because it’s full of soybean oil.

This is my go to when I make Greek pasta salad!  It’s just so yummy but quite salty though, so I don’t need to add much salt to my pasta salad.
